I am a senior at the University of Michigan, graduating in May 2015 with a B.A. degree in Communications Studies and a Minor in Writing. I live in Ann Arbor, MIchigan with my five roommates, and I plan to move to Chicago after I graduate. This site serves as an exploration through my evolution as a writer in the minor.

 

In the Gateway, I created a documentary highlighting the ways in which my peers and myself felt unprepared for adulthood. it was one of my favorite pieces to create so far (you can check it out here!) It was really exciting to create, but I felt as though it almost helped me to move through that uncertain stage. Today, I feel as though I have matured greatly since making that video.

 

Therefore, when entering into the Capstone course, I wanted to take a different approach. I wanted to create something professional and high quality; something similar to what I will be creating once I am in the real world outside of college (and you can find that here!) I think that the progression of my projects mirror my progression over the past two years; I feel as though the Minor in Writing has given me the tools to move from academic writing into the early stages of my professional life.
